EBC TEAMS POST STRONG SHOWINGS OVER MEMORIAL DAY

The Evansville Basketball Club 17's won the Eddie Ford Dribble N Shoot in Louisville over Memorial Day weekend. The EBC went 5-0 and defeated the Kentucky Hoopstars for the championship.   The 17's closed out the spring at 19-5 and will next be in competition at the Hoosier Shootout in July.  Following the Hoosier Shootout will be the Kentucky Hoopfest and the Adidas Super 64 in Las Vegas.

The EBC's 15's finished runner-up to St. Louis Gameface in the same tournament. In route to the championship game, the EBC defeated the previously reported 31-3 Birmingham Cats twice.   Next up for the 17-8 15's is the AAU State Tournament in Bloomington.

SENIORS 14-4 / SOPHOMORES 14-6 HEADING INTO BREAK

After four spring tournaments, the EBC 17's are 14-4 and winners of the Who's Next Invite.  In addition to the championship, the senior-to-be squad also has a Final Four Appearance in the Hoosier Spring Showcase.  While the team is getting solid play from all nine players, 5-8 senior point guard Kendal Brown was named MVP of Gary Betts' Who's Next Invite.

While the 17's are playing well, the 15's are holding their own over the four tournaments they have played.  The 15's also had a Final Four appearance in the Hoosier Spring Showcase.  After a solid showing at the Who's Next Invite, the Sophomores played in the championship game of the Spiece Run N Slam Silver tournament.  The 14-6 15's will join the 17's Memorial Day weekend at the Dribble N Shoot in Louisville

EBC OFF TO GOOD START; 17'S WIN WHO'S NEXT INVITE

The Evansville Basketball Club kicked off the 2008 summer at Reggie Tisdale's Spring Showcase on April 18th.  Both the 15's and 17's played well winning their respective pools and earning Final Four bids.  Both teams returned to Indy on April 25th for Gary Betts' Who's Next Invitational.  The 15-and-under team played the entire weekend short-handed, however they had enough fight to go 3-0 in their pool and 4-1 overall.  The 17-and-under team had a huge weekend, winning their pool and then working their way through the bracket to win the championship.  EBC's Kendal Brown was named the tournament MVP for the 17-and-under team that went 6-0 on the weekend.

The EBC has made the Final Four a norm at the Who's Next Invite.  In 2006, a 16-and-under EBC lost in the quarterfinals to aq 17-and-under Spiece Indy Heat.  Last year, the EBC 17's lost in the championship.  This season, the EBC was able to capture its first championship of the summer.  The 17's are now 10-1 while the 15's are 7-2.  Both teams will compete in the Spiece Run N Slam on May 2nd in Fort Wayne
